Erica DePoister

Erica has been employed at Heartland Human Services since 2018. Her experiences during her high school years led to the realization that social work was a perfect fit for her career. While completing her Bachelor's degree in social work at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Erica volunteered for multiple organizations that benefited families in need in her local community. In addition, she has over ten years' experience working with at-risk youth, families in need, individuals and families in emotional and mental health crisis, and those experiencing substance use problems. Erica completed graduate school and received her Master's degree in social work from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She enjoys finding time for self-care by reading novels, caring for her indoor and outdoor plants and flowers, traveling, and celebrating her favorite holidays with family and friends.
